The Independence Day of India, which is celebrated religiously throughout the Country on the 15th of August every year, holds tremendous ground since it reminds every Indian about the dawn of a new beginning, the beginning of an era of deliverance from the clutches of British colonialism of more than 200 years.
At Boston World School, the virtual platform took a patriotic turn where students participated wholeheartedly in the event.
Grade Pre-primary to 5 – saluted the HEROES OF INDIA, by dressing up like them and talking about how these people have taken India to new heights. We had students dress up like freedom fighters, politicians, sportsmen, beauty queens, and most importantly teachers and doctors who are the heroes during this pandemic.
Taking the spirit ahead the students of Grade 6 to 8 got engrossed in the Art Competition based on Indian Folk Art- our cultural heritage. The students displayed beautiful drawing skills in the form of Warli paintings, Miniature paintings, and our National bird through Madhubani paintings. The artwork was a visual delight.
Virtual gatherings were never this captivating. From music to history to tributes, students of grade 9th to A-Level once again proved that their creativity knows no bounds! 74th Independence Day will be marked as one of the most enthralling celebrations in the history of Boston. The talents were unleashed like never before. The students made the judges wonder in awe! There has to be a winner in a competition and we had winners! Congratulations to all the winners and the participants. Happy Independence Day, too.
